ARE WE BETTER OFF NOW, MALAYSIANS?

1. We rejoiced, jumped for joy and congratulated each other the night Barisan Nasional stumbled for the first time in the 14th General Elections.

2. To some of us, we had waited a very long time for something like this to happen and never had we imagined that it was going to come true.

3. The fall of Barisan Nasional was mistakenly compared  to the night when the Berlin Wall came crashing to the ground.

4. 'Politics in Malaysia would never be the same again', so we claimed.

5. In actual fact, politics had always been on the wrong footing in Malaysia, right from the very first day we were exposed to the meanings of 'politics'. Politics in this country will always remain the same. There is no difference between UMNO, DAP, MIC, PAS, MCA, PPBM or even PKR. Every single party had always been racist in nature and struggle.

6. Over the years UMNO had always been at the wrong end of the public resentment.

7. Being the government, UMNO had to face the barrage from every corner of the political fence.  As for the DAP, they needed the chinese support. DAP started to indoctrinate the Chinese that UMNO was a racist Malay party (but aren't DAP racist as well?).  DAP saw that it was the easiest route to topple the BN government and in doing so, created the hatred between these two races.

9. The main reason to the Malay Tsunami that saw the fall of the ruling party in the last general elections was not because the Malays were against UMNO due to the party's mismanagement and bad leadership.The truth is the majority of Malays thought UMNO had failed them. Malays always thought that UMNO were giving too much to the Chinese. In reality UMNO had so many people to please. In the end they became a victim trying to please the Chinese but forgot that the ones who voted for them were the Malays. Had UMNO not try to look good to everybody and focused on the Malays, they might have survived the onslaught.

10. In came PH with all kinds of promises. 'A new Malaysia' they claimed. But soon, we realised that they are no better than the previous government.  Mahathir had the cheek to even say that his government will not be fulfilling the 100 days' promises which were stated in the PH manifesto as it  was not the bible to be adhered to.

11. But that's Mahathir. We all adore him. He can lie all the time and we don't mind a tiny bit.

12. The economy is going down and investors are shying away. While Malaysians are feeling the heat, Mahathir and his band of happy go lucky incapable ministers are having a field day blaming the previous government for their failure to deliver.

13. Mahathir made a big blunder by playing the blame game on China to topple Najib, forgetting that this economic powerhouse is no pushover. In the end Mahathir was the one who got bullied and other countries now don't want anything to do with Malaysia as long as Mahathir is in power. Even Japan has been very cold towards the old man.

14.Corruption is sipping in very fast. If it took 61 years for corruption to get into the way to topple BN, it took PH leaders just a few weeks to be caught with corruption. A Malaccan exco, Mat Sabu's aide and Lim Guan Eng's corruption case, to name a few.

15. The danger that lurks is far greater of what can be seen on the surface. By trying to destroy UMNO completely is actually asking for trouble. To many UMNO members, Mahathir is a DAP puppet. Many have begun questioning the role of the DAP in the actions taken against UMNO and its leaders.

16. As UMNO represents the bulk of Malay support, the 'bullets' directed at UMNO is seen as the attempt to 'massacre' the Malays. "We never did this to DAP when  we were in power but why are they trying to kill our party?", they have started to question.

17. And that is not all. For the first time in history, Malaysia is at risk of facing a split. Sabah and Sarawak are not happy with the government's empty promises.The rift is getting bigger and if not handled accordingly will see the demise of the Malaysian Federation.

How to shop as usual and save money...?

Almost everywhere in the globe face a 'not-so-favored' economic situation. One may ask, will this recession be a short -term dip or otherwise? McKinsey Global Consumer Sentiment Survey 2016 shown that average optimism level about the respondent's country economy is only around 25%. 26% is living paycheck to paycheck. A large number of people fear of losing their job in the next year.

However, life must go on. People will still need to spend to buy things, but how could people be able to survive on their current salary while prices of items fluctuating up and down, of which it goes up mostly? There are 5 attributes to probably help to save money.

Proactive search for savings

Change your buying behaviors. Pay more attention to prices while actively look for sales and promotions. You can always delay purchases to get the best deal. Some people (like my mom) used to window shopping at multiple stores to find the best deals. There are people who can read the mind of the retailers expecting sales on certain items.

Another best saving option is on food. Always buy raw material and cook at home. You can always estimate not to waste them. Perhaps, you can share leftovers with cats around you :)

Be loyal to a brand only when the price is right

The best thing out of sticking to a brand is, you can easily compare the price between outlets. It is not practical comparing an apple to an orange as items might differ in terms of weight, features & benefits. Try to dig the most benefit out of the things you want to buy.

I have my own ceiling price when buying diapers for my kids. I will always keep the diapers price lower than RM0.40. For example, a brand selling at RM29.90 with 78 pieces in it. You'll spend around RM0.38 per diapers. You can quickly decide on the purchase once you know the price.

Always have a calculator with you, or install calculator apps on your smartphone!

It is best to purchase when the brand is on sale or perhaps if you have the discount coupons. It is also good to purchase in small quantities. The price might go down further, yeah?

Opt to less expensive brands

The brand comes with a price. The market would usually observe branded items or even shares to be pricier. My kids love that blackcurrant drink they claimed to be full of vitamin C (I hope you know which brand I'm referring to). I have been reluctantly bought the biggest bottle every time it runs out at home (you know how much it was priced) until the retailer themselves came up with their own version, which tastes no differ from the original. Those priced less a few ringgits per bottle until I went to Pasar Tani and found 2 bottles of blackcurrant drink + raisins sold at RM25. Then it was even offered at RM20 for 2 bottles.

That will save me for the next 3-4 months?

In mature markets, mostly in Europe, consumers has been opting to retailer's packaged items for more savings. This includes laundry supplies, cleaning products and even bottled water. Living in Malaysia, you should have brought your own filtered and boiled clean water from home. It will save you a lot!

Reluctant - may be a factor for not trading down but it may be worth to try. After a number of frustrating experience, I myself traded down on a few brands and live with it . Once it gets right, I have never turned back. The cycle goes on and on and on and on.....

Shop across channels

Malaysians are so lucky to have various places/channels to shop. We have retail, wholesale, online, Pasar borong etc. The only thing we are lacking in Malaysia is discounted market but since we are having so many sales in a year, who cares?

When I was looking for kitchen apparatus a month back, I spent three to four days to shop around, visiting various shops physically, retailers and surfed a few online retailers as well. I ended up buying a discounted built-in oven from a shop in Puchong (it's new, not pre-loved), instead of paying its original price of RM2.5k, I paid less than RM1k. I bought the hob and hood, with the spec that I was looking for less than RM1.7k online, both from different sellers.

The same spec of hob would normally price at around RM1.2 - RM1.5k while the same spec of the hood would normally be priced at around RM1.8 - RM2k. I would have paid almost RM2.8k more. That's a lot of money for me. The tolls and petrol expenditure was below RM50 for those 3-4 days. Spend a little bit for more saving.

Buy things that you need ONLY

This is perhaps the last but most important attribute when you go shopping. For me, shopping is for grocery, home, and laundry supplies. It is also good if you have a smaller refrigerator as we tend to fill more if it is bigger. We end up throwing things off once those turned bad.

For some people, shopping is for clothes. It is good that you can review your closet at least once a month, or before you intend to shop for clothes. Many end up bought clothing to wear once and forever it stays in the closet after that.

These attributes are supposed to be easy to follow. You just need to look around you to begin.

Will Warren #Buffett's 'Midas' touch work on Yahoo?

Do you Yahoo? That probably not as awkward as 'I Yahooed the web and found this'. To find anything, people google it, never yahoo it. Yahoo has never able to turn itself into a verb, despite numerous campaign, it does sound awkward.

Yahoo was in trouble and perhaps managed to keep itself being in trouble by having Marissa Mayer as the CEO. Her actions in Yahoo were exactly what Carly Fiorina did with HP until she got fired by HP BOD. Yahoo BOD should have been able to 'smell' issues as Marissa was once demoted by Eric Schmidt when she was still in Google.

Looking at Yahoo's performance, it has a gross margin of more than 50% all the way from 2006 to date, and it even went over 70% in 2013 & 2014. It drops below 60% in 2015 and this year. Their per share income was the minus in 2015 and this year so far. 2015 onwards are definitely not a good year for Yahoo. Other than experiencing declining traffic on its search site, Yahoo is also facing the falling revenues of their full of security issues advertisements.

Known as 'The Man' at Berkshire-Hathaway, Warren Buffett was known to turning struggling organizations downside up. Other than over $200k working stock at the Berkshire-Hathaway, he did the same with Media General, Nevada Energy, and Kraft Heinz.

Buffett is helping to invest in Yahoo venture by offering Dan Gilbert to be a potential partner. Even though verified on CNBC, no one is sure if Buffett will be watching and consulting as needed. One would easily perceive that he has no operating designs on the company. No one is sure if he is doing the right thing with technology related companies. Would he still be the hands behind the door having significant says in Yahoo? How should Google be viewing this, or should Google be worried?

The 'Midas' has not always succeeded in his ventures. IBM for example, faced major losses within 5 years after Warren Buffet started to buy tons of their shares. Would this indicate that he has no understanding in IBM businesses? Would that intricate Yahoo in the same way? Not to mention, AMEX, Walmart and Wells Fargo (and of course IBM) shares lose billion of dollars in 2015. Does Yahoo fit into his value model to be exact? Is Buffett losing his 'Midas' touch perhaps?

There are other parties also interested in acquiring Yahoo. Perhaps Microsoft is no longer interested after it got rejected in 2008. Despite being huge and having a large client base, no one can get a good design of growth for Yahoo. Buffett would perhaps look into a change of management in order to revive Yahoo to survive.

Perhaps by focusing on niche products like Mail service, News and venturing into the stock market and especially e-Commerce through joint-venture with logistics companies like DHL, Yahoo would be able to redeem themselves out of their current situation, and most importantly, to enable people to exactly define 'What is Yahoo', easily.

On another note, acquisition of Tumblr was definitely a big mistake and should be reversed!

MacOSX on Dell Inspiron Mini 10v (1011)

It is the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v (1011) which had the most compatibility with MacOSX. All its hardwares are supported in MacOSX.

I did it twice before getting it right. It's running MacOSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Yet updated to the latest update. Installation was made through a 8GB USB flash disk. Steps:

1. Partition USB disk to GUID partition format and format it to HFS+ using Disk Utility
2. Restore Snow Leopard CD to the USB flash disk using Disk Utility
3. Download NetbookMaker 0.8.4 RC1 and install it to the USB disk
4. Install Snow Leopard to your Dell Inspiron Mini 10v
5. Once installed, the machine will automatically rebooted. Download NetbookInstaller 20100616212351, install and reboot
6. Install MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg and legacy_kernel-10.6.8.pkg. Install Mac update but do not click restart when asked. Instead, install the legacy kernel package and restart.
7. System will be rebooted, running for 10-15 minutes and restarted again
8. Run the NetbookInstaller 20100616212351 again, and install SleepEnabler.kext to enable sleep.
9. Done!

Everything should work. WiFi, Ethernet, TouchPad. The best is you can configure the touchpad to be used just like Apple's touch pad, with the use of 2 or 3 fingers touch. Kewl isn't it?

It's now officially a toy to my son to watch youtube. It's a lot more stable and better responding.

How to install Windows 7 over existing Hackintosh build

I didn't intend to install Windows on my machine until the need to diagnose my Graphics Card arises. I was suspecting my Gigabyte GT640 card to be either having non updated bios or faulty after my Hackintosh build hung with the card but it worked breezing smooth after the card was replaced.

Furthermore, most of the diagnose, bios and what tools and utilities only available in Windows platform. Since I will need to test the graphics card in Windows, I will need to have Windows being installed on any of my machine of which I may slot in the graphics card.

Most of dual boot guide written on the net was made on freshly install Windows and Mac but not those completely install mac with all the apps inside.

I started with making space for the new Windows install on my GPT partition, resizing existing partition and created a new msdos partition and attempted to install Windows. It always says cannot install windows on GPT partition but I'm sure I've been reading about installing Windows on Mac so installing Windows on GPT shouldn't be a problem at all.

I was even cheated by a youtube video over the net which claimed windows 7 can be installed on GPT partition after performing 'clean' command in diskpart. Of course it can install but the partitioning had been converted to MBR. Luckily, I've been playing safe by making an image out of my Hackintosh install, of which later made me to write this article on how to install Windows on GPT partition over an existing Hackintosh build.

Thus why I decided to experiment till finally figured out how to do it, without jeopardizing your current install, or having to reinstall everything from scratch.

The only things you need:

1. Mac OS X USB stick with Unibeast, Kakewalk or anything. I used Kakewalk for my build
2. HFS+ formatted external hard disk

How to do it:

1. Get into Mac installation boot - Creating a New Image over the partition of which Mac was installed not possible, that is why you would need to boot your PC using the Mac OS X USB stick and get into the installation boot option. Please also make sure your HFS+ formatted external hard disk is also plugged in to your UBS 3.0 port, so it's much faster, or else USB 2.0 if you don't have one.
2. Backing up your Mac Build - Once you reached the install OS X page, open up Disk Utility. Click on your hard disk with Mac Install and click again on the partition of which you install your Mac OS X. Click new image and save it to your HFS+ formatted external hard disk as we're going to wipe your hard disk clean! Verify the size of the image and make sure if more or less like the size of the usage of the partition you install your Mac into
3. Repartitioning - With disk utility, select what ever partitioning scheme you like but please make sure the first partition should be allocated to Windows with MSDOS format. You may allocate your mac install on any partition. I created 3 partitions of which the first one was for Windows, 2nd for Mac install and 3rd for data.
4. Installing windows - Once the install windows page appeards, you will still encounter the unable to install Windows on GPT partition. You just need to click on advace, format the partition and that's it. Install Windows till complete.
5. Restoring Mac - Boot using the Mac OS X USB stick and again using disk utility, restore the image from your external hard disk until complete.
6. Restoring chameleon - Boot from USB stick and select your mac install. Once you're able to get into your Mac OS X install, re-install chameleon, and walla, your windows will automatically be listed in the boot option menu. You might wanna change the boot disk default in the chameleon plist file in folder Extra.

Then you're done! You may start dual booting your Hackintosh easily now!!

Mac Build on Gigabyte Z77 DS3H

As I had been using Kakewalk installation for my first build, I again decided to use Kakewalk for my new build thus why I bought the Gigabyte Z77 DS3H from the UK. It was brought back last year, 2013 but I was only able to have the time to buy other components like CPU, hard disk, graphics card, memory and power supply this year.

Initially I thought I was having issues with the Gainward GT640 graphics card as it keeps on causing my motherboard to be unable to boot, thus the decision I bought Gigabyte GT640, just to get to understand that PEG Gen3 might be problematic thus I need to set PEG to Gen2 in BIOS. I advertised my Gainward GT640 but no one was really serious in buying it.

I was unable to create Kakewalk USB stick from my older Snow Leopard build as it requires 64 bit system. I borrowed my sister's in law MacBook and managed to create Kakewalk USB stick, but failed to boot with boot0 error. No clue was found on the Internet. Most people reported the same issue.

I was then able to create Unibeast Mountain Lion USB stick and later managed to install Mountain Lion but there was an issue with the sound while playing videos on the browser, the sounds breaks and disappeared. As upgrading to Maverick was free, I created Unibeast Maverick USB stick and managed to get it installed and running.

After using the maverick build for sometimes, the machine keeps on hanging. All these while I thought it was due to maverick hanging issue thus I decided to either install Lion or Mountain Lion to avoid such issue. Until the last day before Hari Raya, my Maverick build keeps on hanging while I was trying to enable Radeon HD4350 on my older SnowLeopard build, it gets corrupted and I was unable to do any changes, until I found a Lion Bootable USB stick image that can be written to the USB stick using rawrite in Windows. My previous Mountain Lion USB stick had been erased to make way for Maverick USB stick.

Then I installed a Lion on the new build to develop the Snow Leopard on the older build, and luckily installation was breezing smooth. No issues and I was able to do my photography jobs.

Back to Malaysia after hari raya, i got hold of my sister in law's MacBook to try creating Unibeast USB stick but failed, and it actually asked me to get a new copy. Finally I decided to buy Mountain Lion for RM59. Just to spent the waiting time to get the code from Apple, before returning the MacBook, I tried to create Kakewalk USB stick for one more time.

Just before returning the MacBook, I was able to boot the Kakewalk USB stick on my new build. Walla. Installed completely but after update, the machine keep on hanging. Went back to Seremban for few days and I decided to test if it was the graphics card. I did the 3D test and the machine hung!

I did another clean install and clean update before installing essential drivers and performed the 3D test.

It hung!

I opened up the Gainward GT 640 box and replaced Gigabyte GT640 card and performed 3D test. It managed to complete!

Probably I will need update the Gigabyte GT640 bios and try again. Will update here. Will figure out how to install Windows 7 to play with Gigabyte GT640 graphics cards BIOS then.

Or probably I should consider higher graphics cards like GTX series.

As of now, I will stick to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 with SMBios settings to MacPro3,1to enableVGA output. Currently on Login to Lion Chameleon theme. Works perfectly!

of one mean solar day is slightly longer than 86,400 seconds (a UTC day). The purpose of a leap second is to compensate for this drift, by scheduling days with 86401 or 86399 international standard seconds.

Because the Earth's rotation speed varies in response to natural events, UTC leap seconds are irregularly spaced and unpredictable. The last leap second occured at 23:59:59 UTC on 31 December 2008. Leap seconds occur based on UTC time, and therefore are timezone independent and occur around the world at the same moment, regardless of local time.

How to boost your UniFi speed?

The fact that a lot of people suffered from bad Unifi speed was REAL. It happens to me.

For the past few days, I was feeling like everything was getting really slow. Some might experience slowness in both ways (download and upload) but I think it's quite weird that my upload speed was okay (constantly from 4-5 MBPS) but my download speed went down to not more than 200 kbps, and the slowest recorded was 15kbps, even slower than the PSTN dial up speed.

It used to be at least 1MBPS, when sometimes it goes up to 2 or 3 and 4 but never reached 5 MBPS.

I reported the problem to TM and I only got not less than 15 report numbers for the past 24 hours. Just the report numbers. Nothing more than that. What a service??

Talked to a few friends and Wan suggested that might be due to the router problem. I was just trying my luck and decided to look for the router.

Searched thoroughly on the NET and found out a site, http://unifi.athena.my, which list out all the compatible routers to be working with the current UniFi setup.

So today I went to LowYat Plaza (the heaven on earth for geeks & nerds like me) and looked around for the router. I was stopped at a shop and told that they have a wide range of routers. I checked the site and found out a router with 300 MBPS N WiFi. Priced at RM79, it's a TP-LINK TL-WR841ND.

Headed home after a nice dinner at the al-Rawsha. Popped the router from the box and connect it to one of my laptop while the other one to look for the ways to configure it on the Net.

Downloaded the firmware after so many failing attempts due to the failing UniFi connection, immediately I load it into the router and reboot, configured everything and VOILA! The Internet seems to be improving!

Did the test and it was showing figures around 7-8 MBPS this time. That means the original router provided by TM was faulty from the beginning! Lucky I had a faulty device. I'm not only getting a cheaper replacement (TM's default router will cost you RM150), I'm also getting a better connection now!

I just had my UniFi installed for slightly more than a month. How do you explain that?

UniFi does not sucks. It's the people there. Providing people with faulty items and faulty services, as even the Customer Service failed!

3 defective parts per 10,000 have been separately manufactured....

This speaks a lot about the Japanese quality standards and also cultural misunderstandings.

They're still laughing about this at IBM. Apparently the computer giant decided to have some parts manufactured in Japan as a trial project. In the specifications, they set out that they will accept three defective parts per 10,000 .

When the delivery came in there was an accompanying letter. "We, Japanese people, had a hard time understanding North American business practices. But the three defective parts per 10,000 have been separately manufactured and have been included in the consignment. Hope this pleases you."

Mengapakah minyak semakin sedikit?

Mari kita mulakan tajuk hari ini dengan perbandingan penggunaan minyak RON95 dengan RON97. Jika anda perasan, RON95 adalah minyak yang sangat tidak menjimatkan. Beza penggunaan RM50 RON95 dengan RON97 adalah jelas menggunakan Toyota Wish saya. Ujian ini adalah sangat rambang dan mungkin kurang tepat akan tetapi secara kasarnya ianya agak konsisten. Ini tidak termasuk ujian di atas lebuhraya. Diharap agar anda tidak menggunakan hasil ujian ini sebagai rujukan di tempat lain.


RON 95
RM50 boleh dapat 26.32 liter di mana saya boleh memandu sejauh 240-260 bergantung cara pemanduan.
RM50 bahagi dengan 240km = 20.8 sen setiap 1 km.


RON 97
RM 50 boleh dapat 21.74 liter di mana saya boleh memandu sejauh 280-330 bergantung cara pemanduan
RM50 bahagi dengan 280km = 17.8 sen setiap 1km


Menggunakan minyak RON97 sebenarnya lebih murah walaupun harga nampak seperti mahal. RON97 juga lebih baik untuk kenderaan anda, 3 sen setiap kilometer jika didarab dengan setiap 5000 km, anda menjimatkan RM150 setiap kali servis. RM150 boleh digunakan untuk servis kereta, kenalah tambah sikit.

Dan kerajaan yang bijak ini mungkin tahu tentang hal ini. Hehe. Mereka tahu orang akan lebih menggunakan RON95 sebab harganya yang murah, tapi kadar penggunaannya lebih tinggi.

Mengurangkan kebergantungan kepada sumber bahan api minyak adalah sesuatu yang bernas akan tetapi bagaimana praktikal-kah idea ini untuk dipraktikkan, sekurang2nya buat masa sekarang.

Sumber bahan api berasaskan petroleum ini paling banyak digunakan dalam aktiviti yang menggunakan enjin dan motor, seperti memandu kenderaan dan industri2. Ianya adalah bentuk jisim yang menghasilkan tenaga melalui pembakaran yang menghasilkan satu tenaga yang lain.

Prinsip keabadian tenaga mengatakan nilai tenaga sentiasa sama walaupun ianya berubah bentuk. Nilai akhir tenaga dalam bentuk yang lain mungkin berbeza, disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor kehilangan tenaga seperti geseran dan sebagainya.

Sepertimana di Malaysia, kerajaan kononnya memberi galakan untuk rakyat yang ingin menggunakan teknologi hibrid di dalam kereta tapi kereta hibrid yang paling murah setakat ini, RM93,000, iaitu Honda Insight, yang pada sesetengah golongan rakyat sangat tidak berkemampuan untuk memilikinya. Harga Perodua Kancil yang paling murah (bukan terpakai) tetap 20k lebih.

Saya sangat hairan kenapa Kerajaan Malaysia tidak begitu mendorong Perodua dan Proton mengeluarkan kereta2 hibrid ini dengan cepat memandangkan kerajaan berpendapat, jumlah simpanan Petroleum semakin berkurangan?

Ini adalah sesuatu yang bertentangan dengan prinsip kerajaan yang kononnya mahu melindungi harga proton di pasaran sehinggakan harga2 kereta bukan Proton dinaikkan sekiranya jualan Proton merudum jatuh.

Secara logik, jika petroleum semakin kurang, kerajaan menggalakkan lebih penghasilan kereta2 hibrid. Perodua sudah sepatutnya keluar dengan kenderaan hibrid yang tidak menggunakan minyak dan tidak mencemarkan udara dan bunyi alam sekitar. Adalah mustahil Perodua tidak mampu menghasilkan kereta hibrid sedangkan Perodua dipunyai oleh Toyota & Daihatsu, dua nama besar dalam industri kenderaan yang sudah pun mempunya kenderaan hibrid sendiri.

Apakah puncanya? Adakah kerajaan juga mahu melindungi Petronas? Adakah jika semua orang menggunakan hibrid, jumlah jualan petroleum akan berkurangan? 

Isu sebenarnya yang saya nak tonjolkan di sini adalah, mengapa simpanan minyak semakin sedikit.

Sebagai orang Islam, saya percaya, dengan bersedekah, Allah akan memberi lebih kepada kita. Saya tidak nampak kerajaan Malaysia mahu bersedekah minyak kepada rakyatnya. Lagi kikis duit rakyat lagi adalah. Mungkin itulah sebabnya Allah tarik balik nikmat Minyak yang diberikan kepada Malaysia disebabkan para pemimpinnya tidak menguruskan minyak dengan cara yang diredhai Allah.

Maaf, ini bukan spekulasi, tapi ini adalah tanggapan saya sahaja. Kita harus lihat negara-negara Arab. Mereka mulai mempercayai minyak sudah mula berkurangan. Siapakah yang menasihati mereka ini? Orang2 barat.

Kalau kita Islam dan percaya dengan bersedekah Allah akan memberi lebih lagi, kita tentu tidak risau tentang minyak. Betapa Nabi Ibrahim tidak risau meninggalkan Siti Sarah dan Nabi Ismail di Safa & Marwa sebab yakin Allah akan melindungi mereka. Allah bagi sumber air yang abadi untuk mereka.

The 53rd Merdeka Anniversary!

• I'm thanking God, for, being a Malaysian, and a Muslim, and living in Malaysia, we are still able to do so many things here, even though we cannot play fireworks, cannot drive fast on the highways, cannot criticize the government, cannot simply eat anywhere due to uncertain halal status, bla bla bla.. hehehe..
  
  
• Just remember we still have; smuggled fireworks, willing to nego policemen, PM and Police Head who open up their own SMS complain hotline and variety of good & halal food sources if you really look for it as this is a Muslim Country.
  
  
• I'm praying for the wellness, wealth and prosper of the country. May Allah give more of His blessings for this country. Think about it, you should be thankful that no one is pointing guns at the public, and not even a sound of mortar, even though you'll be able to hear the sound of people playing the smuggled fireworks.
  
  
• I'm praying to God, to unite every single people in this country to be together to build and protect this country; even though there are so many people who ridiculously trying to make this country look bad.
  
  
• I'm praying also to god, so that other country will not be our enemy. It's not good to have enemies now, as we all know, one of the neighboring country is massively hating us in many different ways, even though they know, we are by right from the same root and believing in the same god.
  
  
• Despite of the country is having more trouble now, I'm still be thankful to God for being a Malaysian.
  
  
• I'm fat, healthy and doing quite alright in this country.

I was right

When I told my wife about why Maybank took quite sometimes to setup their bank in front of my office.

I answered her like this.

CIMB will always setup theirs first just to capture people eyes on their existence there, but Maybank is not going to jeopardize their business by moving in so quickly without ensuring everything is in place so that their business continuity is guaranteed.

Today, I went to both Maybank and CIMB, which located just in front of my Office in Cyberjaya (thank god, I'm so blessed to be working here). I went to Maybank first, and used up all their facility, CDM, ATM, ChqDM what ever 'M' it is, they are all working fine and no one queued at their counter, except for those non conventional banking transactions. I'm done in Maybank for less than 10 mins.

As I was having a loan with CIMB, so after withdrawing my money, I went to the next building, which is CIMB, which is located just next to Maybank, which they populated the place first. I queued up at the fudgingly slow Cash Deposit Machine (CMD) for 20 minutes just to find out that the machine was not stable and the know the fact that,

This transaction cannot be done now. Please try again later.

When I read that, it straight away gets my mind flashed the memories of all the common error with DOS prompt, 15-20 years back. They always asked us to try again later.

Then I took a counter queue number, which require me to fill in the form first, then I climbed up the stairs, just to find out there 8 more numbers queuing in front of me.

After half an hour, the number didn't move, then out of my patience, I walked up to the counter and asked,

Kak, diorang tak panggil nombor ke?

She responded by saying most of the system are out of order and she's the only one who are able to take the deposit for loans.

Then, for another 15 mins, I wait up and she called me up again and I paid.

I wasted my 1 hour and 5 minutes just to get my loan to be paid.

Why can't they be penalized for not serving us the way they should have?

Halal Cert of QBB Ghee suspended?

The famous 'Minyak Sapi' QBB Ghee, which is widely being used by Muslims in this country were suspected to be containing doubtful elements of which prohibited for consumption by the muslims.

Jakim had posted a notice on its website mentioning about the suspension of the Halal Certificate with effect from August 19 2010. Link

The website (link provided below) is also using Chef Ismail, a Muslim Chef as an Icon to promote it as a Muslim approved food. They even still displaying the Halal Logo by Jakim on their website which is strictly has breached the order by JAKIM.

Luckily I'm not using this product but I know my Auntie is. Right now, I'm having difficulties to contact her to let her know about this.

What should I do?

You know what?

I had now realized, after so long, of why I'm no longer updating my blog regularly.

All these while, I blogged, mostly due to my dissatisfaction towards so many things (especially the government), and if you notice properly, I only blogged after Pak AAB became the prime minister.

I was full of anger. Full of dissatisfaction fuil of so many shit in my head. It's all about so many things that went wrong with the government. Everything was wrong.

At first I thought I slowed down, caused of too much hatred in myself. I felt like my writings were inadequate, not enough to give any impact to anything.

Today, I had just realize, someone else has done the job for me.

The government is desperate

It is about the summon this time. This really hit me.

I was able to renew my Car's Road Tax for the past 2 years (2008 & 2009) with no fail. All of a sudden, this year, I was unable to renew my road tax due to a blacklisted summon dated 14 February 2008, of which I didn't even knew about it at all.

As per my understanding, once you're stopped by the police/JPJ and given the summon by hand, and the summon was signed by you, and if you didn't settle it in the next 3 months, then only you get blacklisted.

This summon was not even notified to me, by anyone, and if I even knew about it, I am eligible to get a trial as well. I think, it is the responsibility of the police team to hunt for the people who made the offense and nowadays, tracking people are just at your fingertips.

I was worried if actually someone else used my car plate number as there was once a car with my plate number was reported to bang a lorry in Klang but my car was actually being repaired in a workshop in JB and never been out during that accident period. I've got a summon and was called for investigation but after lodging a police report, the police officer told me not surrender myself as the letter from the workshop is good enough to prove my innocence.

So it might be someone else's fault. But back in 2008? Then I was supposed to be unable to renew my road tax in that year itself!!!

That sounds like I was found guilty without me knowing about it. That is cruel!

How does it feel like when all of a sudden you get a slap a your face and told, that's for trying to court my wife, but you didn't even know the wife?

Malaysia & Broadband

I love Malaysia so much, so I do think that I have the right to be a lil upset. You should refer to my post http://life.izham-miyake.com/2009/10/aussie-firms-deterred-by-malaysias-slow.html which I put a newspaper link mentioning about a lot of Foreign Companies pulling out their investment, caused by our SLOW INTERNET!

More shocking! In China, they even have the 4 GB connection to home and they only pay RM60 equivalently. Confirmed by a friend who just went there last week.Isn't this good for expat who wanted to work from HOME?

Yes, we cannot compare to them in terms of density level but at least we should be at the same pace as they are now. 1MB compared to 1GB (like 1000x faster?), and running 1MB at a higher price (1GB@RM83 vs 1MB@RM99) is totally unacceptable.

Zid's comment/thought is a thought that will keep Malaysia left behind. Plus, the 1MB connection we pay is 'Best Effort' service, and I hope you guys understand what 'Best Effort' is, as mentioned in the Streamyx's SLA.

We keep comparing with the neighboring countries, but my question is, why should we compare to them as we claimed we are so much developed compared to them.

I tell you guys, Malaysia are so left behind at this point, compared to a few of our neighboring countries. Why? These are the facts:-

1. SG - 8Mbps - SGD65. ~ RM140
2. TH - 2 Mbps - THB1000 ~ RM100
3. PH - 12 Mbps - P5999 ~ RM432

SG can offer 8Mbps lower than the cheapest 4MB offer in Malaysia (RM160).

TH, which country is as big as Malaysia can offer, 2MBPs. almost the same price as our Streamyx RM99 1MB combo package. Not to mention what is the percentage of the availability Streamyx can offer?

PH, they can offer 12MBps?

Don't you think Malaysia should be at an UPPER level to PH/TH?

This is yet to compare with those in the UK. My sister is subscribing to a 10Mbps broadband, packaged with a phone line and TV cable, at a price of GBP5 ~ RM30 only.

My Brother in Russia, using a 8Mbps line paying for only RM70 a month. Russia is not densed as HK right?

If we keep giving EXCUSES on things, this 'TIDAK APA' attitude will get Malaysia left so behind in the next 10 years. Believe me guys.

The worst is, I've been applying land phone line for my house since July last year. Until today, my home is still not wired. Even SKMM gave me empty promises. Any of you guys can help?

Keburukan - Hahahaha. Orang2 dari agama lain akan ramai2 masuk Islam sebab akhirnya mereka akan mengaku bahawa tuhan adalah Allah, bukan tuhan2 lain (takut nak sebut nanti sensi-Azman Minha). Nanti tak cukup tanah pula untuk perkuburan orang Islam.

Kebaikan - Dakwah secara tak langsung bahawa Allah yang maha Benar dan Satu adalah Allahu Ahad Wallah Hussamad.

Dalam hal2 sebegini, yang penting adalah hati kita. Di manakah letaknya Iman kita.

Sbg seorang Islam, yang penting adalah Aqidah kita. Kita asyik sibuk dengan amalan Fiqh sdgkan Aqidah kita tak berapa kuat lagi. Masih terdengar orang2 yang bersolat tunggang tunggik tapi masih lagi percaya benda karut marut yang bidaah dan mensyirikkan seperti berjumpa bomoh, menyantau orang dan sebagainya.

Ramai juga yang kuat solat tapi tak bisa menahan Ammarah. Ramai juga yang suka bersedekah tapi suka menjaja cerita sedekahnya.

Saya pernah terdengar seorang Imam yang marahkan anaknya sebab dah kawin lebih sepuluh tahun tapi masih belum dapat anak. Katanya, 'Buat anak pun tak reti', sedangkan rezeki adalah di tangan Allah.

Dalam hal ini, kita harus bertawakkal kerana hanya Allahu Ahad yang Maha Mengetahui. Kenapa kita harus risau sekiranya perkataan Allah digunakan dalan terjemahan Bible sedangkan reference kita adalah al-Quran, yang juga Imam kita. Kenapa nak takut sedangkan Imam kita bukan Bible.

Kita yang seharusnya memperkuatkan Aqidah kita. Dengan didikan yang cukup, rasanya kita tak perlu takut dengan apa pun hatta kalau orang nak bunuh kita kerana beriman dengan Allah pun kita tak perlu takut selagi kita berpegang kepada beriman kepada Allah.

Alhamdulillah, sekarang ni rasanya ramai lagi yang masih kuat Imannya walaupun luarannya nampak macam orang yang mulutnya jahat. Sebagai contoh seorang kawan di kantor yang suka mengutuk orang tapi bila bercakap tentang anak, rezeki dan pangkat, beliau selalu berkata alhamdulillah atau pun masih belum ada rezeki walaupun kerjanya mengutuk orang tak sudah (you know what I mean)

Sepertimana yang kita katakan tadi, you know your limit even though sky is the limit, you know where to limit yourself.

Saya sendiri, Taiko dan kawan2 lain dengar jugak lagu2 puja syaitan yang ganas2 macam Black Metal Grind Core dan sebagainya tapi tak pulak jadi atheist atau masuk Kristian. Masih lagi orang Islam yang sejati.

Daripada bercerita hal2 yang serious yang kita pun tak tahu ke mana hala tuju, baik kita cerita pasal blue atau taik.

Taklah takut jadi Syirik. Hehehe.. :p

A bowl of Quaker Oat a day campaign

I'm the one who is campaigning to all of you.

Because... I do think that it changes myself a lot.

I still remember when I was a kid, my Mom used to fed me with Quaker Oat every single day, every morning. No wonder I keep myself thin & slim all the way to my secondary school time.

I was no longer fed on Quaker Oat since my Secondary school days and since then my tummy started to grow, even though I was heavily active in sports and all sorts of activities.

Then my Tummy comes out from it's hiding place as I was no longer in sports.

Starting last week, I took at least a bowl of Quaker Oat a day. It costs me a foul-smelling poops every time I did it.

One good thing is, it takes with it all the foul-spoiling substance from your stomach.

2nd thing is, it felt like my stomach is empty but I don't feel like eating that much.

I'm slightly overweight at 78 kg right now so I intended to reach the 70 starting point this coming new year.

Then I would start to push it lower to maybe 65 or 62. Just like the old days.
